Crazy & Silly Laws of Earlier Times

.
Here are some of the craziest laws I came across.

  • Do you
know it’s illegal to munch on a mince pie in Xmas? The law was imposed by Oliver
Cromwell during the 17th Century because he felt they were not Puritan
    enough.

  • Another
law dates back to middle ages which required all Englishmen over the age
of 14 spend two hours a week practicing the LONGBOW, under the supervision
of a local clergy. At that time there was no standing army, so in times of
war noblemen were required to provide infantry including knights, and
    archers.

  • As per
a law of 1837, women are permitted to bite off a man's nose if he kisses
    her against her will.

  • It’s
illegal to wear a tall hat at the theatre and you could be fined for it.
The law was imposed after someone sat in front of Oliver Cromwell and
obstructed his view of the stage.

  • Under a
law passed in 1561 by King Edward VI you are not allowed to break your boiled
egg at the pointed end and if you do so you can be put in the stocks for
    24 hours.

  • According
to a law passed in 1313, Member of Parliament in Britain are banned from putting
    on ARMOUR in Parliament.
